FAQs

Where will YeTI take place?

Students will experience Pfeiffer University’s undergraduate campus in Misenheimer, N.C.

What can I expect during a typical day?

Students are dropped off from 8:00-8:30am EST each morning and picked up between 6:00-7:00pm each day.  Mornings provide time for dynamic group study. Students will engage the Bible, Wesleyan theology, literature and church in the 21st century.  Afternoons feature experiential learning opportunities such as service projects, field trips, outdoor leadership training and more.  Breakfast, lunch, and a snack will be offered daily. Each day includes worship and experiencing a “rule of life” expressed through prayer, reflective scripture reading and a variety of hospitality and service opportunities.  Each day is closed “at the table”, an ecumenical communion experience.

Who will lead YeTI?

Pfeiffer University’s faculty, staff, graduate, and undergraduate students, as well as alumni and personnel from related programs (i.e, General Board of Church and Society, Missional Wisdom Foundation, Wesley Theological Seminary), will be on site to lead programming and oversee activities. Rev. Perry Washington Jr, the institute’s director, will provide overall program oversight.

What is the Cost to Participate?

Generous support from Lilly Endowment, Inc. make it possible to offer the Pfeiffer Youth Theological Institute at a greatly discounted rate. This year’s program will be offered at a rate of $300 per student.  There are need based scholarships available, please contact the director for more information.  Each YeTI attendee who later enrolls at Pfeiffer University as a full-time student is eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship (renewable annually upon review).
